The Archives uncovers Kohler's connection to Hollywood's biggest night.

With the 92nd Oscars ceremony taking place this Sunday, February 9, the Archives team decided to look into Kohler’s connections to Hollywood and the golden era of the silver screen.

The digging uncovered an interesting connection to Hollywood’s biggest night. The first Academy Awards ceremony was held in 1929 in the Blossom Ballroom of the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel. The iconic Los Angeles hotel was designed and constructed just two years earlier with Kohler bathtubs and lavatories in every one of their original 300 guest rooms.

On that first Oscars night (although the nickname “Oscar” wasn’t applied to the Academy Award until several years later), it’s safe to imagine that many of Hollywood’s biggest stars stayed at the hotel and used the KOHLER Viceroy bathtubs or KOHLER Columbia wall-hung sinks and pedestals in their rooms.
